    10:00 amCotgrave Country Park

On Sunday a group of NBG and Friends of Cotgrave Country Park will be installing a variety of different bat box types on the older trees around the park. The park is attractive to bats due to the number of insects attracted by its wildflower grasslands and lakes. Recent bat walks have seen common and soprano pippistrelles feeding over the wild flowers which quickly colonised the area where the old and dangerous trees were felled two years ago. Daubenton's bats were seen skimming over Heron Lake catching flies and even plucking them from the waters surface.
