Anabat Express user instructions

The anabat express has two functions

  1. It can be deployed for a number of days at a single location
  2. or can be used for walked or driven transect.

It is important that the unit is set up correctly.  By default when the unit is switched on it will be set in static mode (function 1 above).  The internal GPS will search for its location and once established will use that single reference point for all recordings.  Instructions on static deployment can be found on the inside cover of the detector

For surveys where the detector will be constantly moving (function 2 above), a walked transect perhaps, you need to ensure that ‘Transect mode‘ is set to ensure that the GPS keeps searching for the correct location.  If static mode is used for a transect all the data for the survey will have the same location reference.

To set up for transect mode follow the instructions below (they are also available as a PDF)
