EchoLocation Location project update

Our Heritage Lottery funded Echolocation Location project is ell-data-jan2017well on it’s was to meet our minimum recording target of 80% of the tetrads (2km x 2 km squares) in Nottinghamshire.  With some data yet to entered into our database we have reached 65% coverage with records from 403 tetrads.  The magic number we need to reach is 492 leaving us with only 89 to go.  We actually want to record more than 80% so we will be working hard to reach this figure by the middle of this year.  2017 is our last full year of recording but we will have the early summer of 2018 to target unrecorded areas.

Thank you to everyone who has helped so far by either deploying detectors, analysing recordings, helping at public events, working with local community groups and by giving talks and leading walks.

A full project update complete with provisional maps will be available in the next few weeks to help us plan for this year’s recording. We are in for a very busy year!
