Barbastelle project success

The Barbastelle bat is Nottinghamshire’s rarest bat species and as part of our Heritage Lottery funded EchoLocation Location project we have been using specialist techniques to find out more about them in the county and to hopefully find our first roost.  By fitting tiny radio transmitters to bats that have been trapped our survey team have located roost sites and last weekend found what is possibly Britain’s most northerly swarming site.  Download our latest  barbastelle project update for full details
